Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Executive Director of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA), Farhad Aliyev, said on 24 May that the ABA plans to become a member of the Coordination Council of CIS and Eastern European countries. According to Aliyev, the ABA President, Eldar Ismaylov, will propose this initiative to the ABA General Assembly scheduled for the end of June.
In the near future, this organization will present the Council's constituent documents to the banking community of Azerbaijan. Within the Coordination Council, presently the ABA is cooperating with the Associations of Banks of Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Kazakhstan, as well as participates in Council events. An international conference "Development of Retail Banking Business" was organized in May in Uzbekistan, which was also attended by the ABA President.
