( Autoweek ) - We've already driven a pre-production Tiguan through the sands of Nambia ("Tiguan Tough," July 25), but Volkswagen just released the first official photographs of its new cute/ute.
As expected, the overall styling doesn't depart much from the original Tiguan concept shown at the 2007 Los Angeles auto show. Many styling cues are directly copped from other VWs, notably the Eos and Golf Plus.
Tiguan arrives in U.S. showrooms next summer, with either a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 or a 2.0-liter Bluetec diesel underhood. Pricing is expected to start around $27,000.
