Baku Steel Company to Discuss Restoration of Operation
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Baku Steel Company (BSC) is the largest metallurgy enterprise in Azerbaijan; they suspended activities at the beginning of July. The company may restore operations in August, spokesman from BSC, Namig Ahmadov, reported on 18 July.
According to Ahmadov, only little amounts of raw metal are supplied to the enterprise, and this is not enough to enable restoration of operations yet.
Part of the staff of the company, including several representatives of the administration, are on leave now. Restoration of operations of the plant will be discussed at the end of July.
According to the project capacity of the plant, 1,400 tons of raw metal per day is required for production.
That was the second suspension of operations this year. The first was in January due to a similar reason.
