Reduction of Rate of Drop in Prices for Consumer Commodities Observed in Azerbaijan in June

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / The State Committee on Statistics has reported that the rate of drop in prices on consumer commodities and tariffs on services made up 0,5% as compared to May, and increased by 14,8% as compared to the same period in 2006.

The prices for foodstuffs dropped by 2,2% for June.

The Committee broadcasts drop of prices for cereals by 0,2%, fruits - 15,8%, mineral water and juices - 0,6%, sugar and confectionery - 0,1%, butter and oils - 0,5%, bear- 1,5%, tea, coffee and cocoa -0,1% and alcohol - 0,3%. Inflation made up 16% as compared to January-June. The prices for foodstuff increased by 15,8%, non-foods- 10%, and tariffs on services - 23,6%. The prices for foodstuff for June 2007 increased by 12,4%, non-foods -10,3%, services -26,7% as compared to 2006.
