According to him, the population of the city requires at least 25,000 cu m of water per year, while only 19,000 cu m are supplied. "The Ganja water reservoir receives water from the basins of the Goy-Gol, Agsu, Ganjachay rivers and 171 artesian wells. The fact that water is in need cannot be ignored. As new buildings are being developed, we may face a serious problem of water shortage," Akbarov added.

Ganja is located 350km west of Baku.
