Worldcarfans ) - Drawing on their experiences in Brasil, Peugeot is releasing the Peugeot 307 BioFlex this September in France, Sweden and The Netherlands. Ordering of the 307 SW and Estate 1.6L BioFlex equipped with the Comfort Pack has started in July, the BioFlex is available at the same price as the petrol versions, ie 20,400Euro and 19,500Euro.

The BioFlex range runs on SuperEthanol fuel, mostly referred to as E85 (85% superethanol, 15% petrol) and comes at a lower price due to tax exemptions, but can only be used in specially adapted engines. If you use E85 fuel in a regular petrol engine you run the risk of damaging the fuel and emissions systems (except on the Ford Model T and A).

Europe is increasingly promoting biofuel in order to reduce CO2 emissions and its dependency on fossil fuels. The Peugeot 307 BioFlex emits 5% less CO2 than its petrol counterpart (169g per km instead of 178g / km). The 1.6-liter TU5JP4 engine generates 82kW/112hp at 5800 rpm with 153Nm at 5000rpm.
