Babayeva / According to the data provided by the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry for 6 August, the collection of autumn and spring grains and leguminous plant harvests (without maize) in Azerbaijan was implemented at 98% ( 689,000 hectares) of the total sowing area of 701,000 hectares. The total grain production made up 1.8mln tons with an average yield of 26.2 centners per hectare, which is more by 0.5% than in 2006.
The Ministry reported that collection of harvest was underway in foothills. The forecast of grain production in Azerbaijan (including maize) for 2007 comprises 2mln tons.
