Azerbaijan Likely to Increase Gas Delivery to Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Azerbaijan is likely to increase gas deliveries to Georgia by six times, the Government said on 15 September. The two countries will discuss the deliveries next week.

The reconstruction of the Kazi-Mahommed-Gazakh gas pipeline in Azerbaijan with respect to the expansion of the capacity of gas pumping will increase the gas pumping capacity of this route under a pressure of 18 atm to 8mln cu m of gas a day.

"A change of price is currently not a topic of talks," the Government said,

Azerbaijan delivers approximately 1.3 - 1.5mln cu m of gas to Georgia. Approximately 2.5mln cu m of gas is supplied to Georgia per day. About 1.3 to 1.5mln cu m of Azerbaijani gas is transported via old pipelines (SOCAR supplies gas at a price of $120 per 1 cu m) and 1mln cu m of gas from the Shah Deniz field runs via the South Caucasus gas pipeline ($63 per cu m).
