Azerbaijan and UK not Planning to Sign Agreement during Visit of Energy Minister

UK, London / corr Trend G.Ahmedova / Azerbaijan and the UK are not planning to sign an agreement during the visit of Malcolm Wicks, the British Energy Minister, to Baku this week, David Michan, the spokesman for the British Energy Ministry said on 18 September.

The Minister intends to discuss the assistance of the European Union and UK in simplification of transportation of Azerbaijani energy resources to Europe.

The negotiations will be held on 21 September within the one-day visit of the Minster to the capital of Azerbaijan. The British Minister is planning to meet with the President of Azerbaijan, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, of Industry and Energy, of Economic Development, and with the head of the National Oil Company.

From January to August this year, the turnover between Azerbaijan and UK made up $215mln, with exports from Azerbaijan totaling $1.3mln and imports from the UK coming to $213.8mln.
