Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Approximately 1.5mln cu m of gas lifted from the Shah Deniz field is pumped to underground gas reservoirs a day, the Government said.

The remaining part of roughly 4mln cu m is pumped into the transport system of the Azerigas joint stock company. This gas is delivered to Iran. Iran transfers the 'blue fuel' to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which is currently in a blockade.

This year 825mln cu m of gas was pumped into the underground gas reservoirs. Approximately 380mln has been left from the previous season.

This volume will be used by gas supply subscribers in autumn-winter period of 2007-2008. During the last period (2006-2007) 1.024bln cu m of gas was pumped into the gas reservoirs.

Despite the refusal from the Russian gas importers, the country does not have any problems with this fuel. Azerbaijan has two underground gas reservoirs, one in Garadagh and another in Kalmaz.
