Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry is process of getting in the UN sanction on sale of own quotas on ejection of methane gas, Asgar Alakparov, the head of Invitation Policy Department said on 2 November. The project on obtaining gas from polygon of garbage in Balakhani was developed by the Japanese corporation Mitsubishi under a memorandum signed in April 2007. The company submitted to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development a feasibility study of the project.
At the sane time Mitsubishi is developing proposals on contract with the Government, which will be signed within the frames of this project. It will be realized without a burden on the public budget of the country and has high ecology efficiency and environment of Baku will be cleaned, as methane will be used for energy production. Mitsubishi is planning to build electric station at its own finance and deliver the electricity to the electricity network.
