Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend S.Aliyev / Azerbaijan and Russia may sign an additional contract on sale and purchase of electric energy due to re-organization of Inter RAO (export and import electric energy operator in Russia), Marlen Askarov, the vice president of Azerenergy, said.
"We have already held negotiations with Russia on the issue," Askarov said.
The shareholders of the energy holding voted for re-organization of the monopoly to the summer 2008.
Under the contract electric energy supply will be prolonged.
Import of electric energy from Russia to Azerbaijan is implemented by tariffs in amount of 3,636 cent per 1 kilowatt per hour, which were adopted in 2006. The fee of sale of Azerbaijani electric energy delivered to Russia was increased from 1.6 cent per 1 kilowatt per hour to 1.8 cent.
