Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Agakhan Malikov, the president of the Azeri-Gas CJSC, recommended the suspension of gas supply to regions which are not paying for the gas they consume, during an interview with journalists.

"Recently, the Sheki and Lankaran regions have paid only 40% for the gas they have used. It is a very low rate of payment. Therefore, we demand the halting of gas to those regions which do not pay for utilized fuel," Malikov said. The payment made for used gas was only 84% of the total for 4 months of supply. Azeri-Gas will not wait for the final decision of the court concerning users who do not pay for supplied gas.

"The conditions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Azeri-Gas stipulate that citizens must pay for used fuel. If gas-consumers have problems and cannot pay for supplied fuel, then we would consider their problem and would not stop the supply of gas," Malikov said.
