Azerbaijan, Turkey’s Developing Economy Astonishes Turkic World – President (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi, E. Huseynli / A presidential summit of Turkic speaking countries will take place next year, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the meeting of Turkic countries in Baku on 17 November.

According to the President, ever developing economy in Azerbaijan and Turkey will strengthen the entire Turkic world. There are enough natural resources and opportunities for that.

The 11th conference of friendship, fraternity and cooperation of the Turkic nations and societies began in Baku on 17 November. The conference brings together nearly 550 delegates from 30 countries, including the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan and high-ranking governmental representatives of the Turkic-speaking states.

The Congress is aimed at strengthening friendly, fraternal and co-operation relations amongst the Turkic countries and communities, ensuring information exchange amongst them, propagating richness of the Turkic culture, developing bilateral economic co-operation and seeking joint ways of resolving the general problems of the Turkic peoples.

According to the Azerbaijani President, Turkic nations should unify their opportunities and become stronger. "Turkic states have vague oil and gas reserves and they should make a rational use of them. They should enter the world through their infrastructure and transit opportunities. Turkey created a great opportunity for Turkic-speaking states to enter the world," President Aliyev said. This meeting is an important step for unification of the Turkic world, he noted.
