Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Badalova / The gas demand of Europe for the next 20-25 years will increase by 20%, said the Minister of Economy and Transport of Hungary, Yanosh Coca, in Baku on 22 November.

"During this period the gas demand of Europe will increase by 100bln cu.m. Europe needs additional pipelines and energy facilities to receive gas. We need Nabucco and players who may deliver the Caspian gas to Europe," he said.

Nabucco will transport gas from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to the EU. The gas from Central Asia to Nabucco may be delivered via planned Tran-Caspian pipeline.

The Minister said that the key attention in Europe is paid to diversification of the energy routes.

"There are three directions of diversification - Nabucco project, gas from Russia and construction terminals in Europe for gas trans-shipment," he said.

We want to become concentrated on Nabucco project and are glad that Azerbaijan began transporting its gas to Europe.
