Trend S.Aliyev / BP Azerbaijan Company (operator of full-scale development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields) is holding talks with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) regarding maintenance of the technical conditions of the vessels used by BP for realizing projects, said the BP Vice President for Main Construction, Brus Luberski, on 23 November.

The Company is completing the construction works within Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and will return the vessels leased from the SOCAR Caspian Marine Oil Fleet, Luberski.

According to the BP Manager for Transport and Assembling, Frank Wilson, significant modernization has been carried out in the leased vessels. In the future, they can be involved by BP for realizing other projects in the Azerbaijani sector of Caspian and therefore, they should be in good technical condition, Wilson said.

Together with the employees of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), BP will hold the assessment of the equipments and materials, which were used during the construction within Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project, for their future transfer to Azerbaijan.

The equipment that is not used will be given to the SOFAZ's ownership. The unused materials can be sold by the Company and the funds received from the sale will be transferred to the SOFAZ, Luberski said. According to him, demobilization of the equipment and its further mobilization for the realization of other projects are more beneficial for BP than its reservation.

The Company does not make over all equipment. Part of the equipment that may be used in BP's other projects in Azerbaijan will be stored up. It will be given to SOFAZ's ownership later.
