Kazakhstan, Astana / Trend corr. К.Konirova / The Government of Kazakhstan will inject changes to the Tax Code and impose a new tax for natural resource users, Daulet Yergojin, the Kazakhstan Vice Minister of Finance, stated on 30 November.
According to the Vice Minister, "The tax will be imposed on mineral production, which depends on the volume of oil production and world prices of oil. The collected taxes will be directed to the National Fund to implement social projects as a result of the increase in world prices of oil and gas," Yergojin said. "The remittance from the rent tax stands at 504mln tenge, the new imposed tax will enable the total to double," he said.
The changes in the Code in the first quarter of 2008 will be considered by the Government. "We are planning the new bill to be put into operation from 2009," he added.
