Azerbaijan, Agjebedi, 17 January /corr. Trend G.Jabiyev / Attended by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, an event took place on 17 January to restore the gas supply to Azerbaijan's district of Agjebedi. The ceremony took place within Azerbaijan President's visit to the south-west region. The gas supply to this district was ceased in 2005.
Ilham Aliyev said in the ceremony that during the first stage, 500 families will be provided with gas and by the end of the year all subscribers of the district will receive gas.
The Barda-Agjebedi gas line is 51.8km in length. The cost of the gas pipeline construction was AZN 26.1mln.
Ilham Aliyev said that by the end of the year, gas will be supplied to Azerbaijan's districts of Beylagan, Agdam and Fizuli. Currently a 7.6km Agjebedi-Beylagan gas line is being constructed and in future a 68km Beylagan-Horadiz gas line will be constructed.
