Azerbaijan’s Oil Production in 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 January / Trend / A total of 41.7mln tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2007, while in 2006 oil production constituted 32.3mln tons, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

The Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC) produced the largest volume of oil compared to other companies - some 32.9mln tons of oil was produced in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli off-shore block in 2007, while in 2006 it was 23.3mln tons.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) produced 7.6mln tons, while in 2006 it produced 7.8mln tons. Oil production in the non-governmental sector comprised 34mln tons, and in 2006 it was 24mln tons.

Gas production in 2007 made up 11bln cu m (2.4bln cu m produced in the Azeri and Chirag fields and 3.2bln cu m in the Shah Deniz field) while in 2006 it was 6.8bln.

SOCAR produced 5.4bln cu m of gas, while in 2006 it produced 4.3bln cu m. The non-governmental sector produced 5.6mln cu m, and in 2006 it was 2.4bln.
