Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 January / corr. Trend / State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) adopted a decision to create the cooperative data bank which will include all data about fields, perspective structures, drilled wells and other data about the oil and gas assets of the company, SOCAR said on 26 January.
"The preparations on the electronic bank of data are scheduled to begin in the near future," SOCAR said.
At present there are 57 fields in Azerbaijan 18 out of which are off-shore fields. According to SOCAR the resources in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian is estimated at 3-5 bln tons of oil and 5 trln cubic meters of gas.
