Azerbaijan to Build Modern Oil Refinery in   Ukraine

Ukraine, Kiev, 28 January / corr Trend Z.Novosvitskiy / Azerbaijan will build a modern oil refinery plant in Ukraine, the Ukrainian President Victor Yuschenko stated in an interview with the Ukrainian television channel 1+1, recorded during his visit to Switzerland.

The President said that on 24 January he met with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and discussed the construction of the oil refinery plant. However, Yuschenko did not disclose the details of the agreement.

He reminded that at present the project on transition of the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk pipeline to an 'averse' regime for the oil volumes comprising 3-4mln tons a year is underway, the President said that on 24 January they announced a tender on a feasibility study of expanding the pipeline to Plotsk.

Azerbaijan has the chance to change the capacity of the Odessa-Brodi oil pipeline to an averse regime and provide 5mln tons of oil supply per year for development in the Galichina Oil refinery complex and Oilchemistry Prikarpatya OJSC, Talat Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine, stated during his meeting with Yuri Prodan, the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister, on 24 January.

Yuschenko said that at present the method of delivery of Azerbaijani light oil of premium quality to the city of Parlup in the Czech Republic via the Friendship pipeline is under consideration.
