Export of Azerbaijan’s Light Oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Totals 8.5mln Tons

Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 April / Trend / In January-March, the Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC), which is developing the offshore Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli bloc, exported 8.5mln tons of Azeri Light oil, and in 2007 export totalled 7.2mln tons.

In January-March, BTC exported 8.3mln tons of oil, while in 2007 the exported totalled 5.8mln tons. In March, AIOC resumed export via the railway to Georgia-based Black Sea Batumi port - 170,756,000 tons. The Baku-Novorossiysk and Baku-Supsa did not export oil.

In the first two months of 2008, Ceyhan port dispatched some 9mln tons of oil (91 tankers). In March, the figure amounted to 3mln tons (31 tanker).

In 2007, the Baku-Novorossiysk exported 856,300 tons of oil, and in 2006 it was 3.5mln tons. The volume of oil transported to Batumi in 2007 constituted 986,000 tons, while the figure for 2006 was 4.2mln. In 2007, Baku-Supsa did not transport oil due to repairs being carried out.
