Russian State Control over Gasprom not to Affect Company’s Market Activity – Analysts

Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 April / Trend corr. A.Badalova / The Russian President issued a decree on joining of 78 gas industries to the State-owned Rosneftgas company. According to the information released by Kommersant, the decree was the first step to pass Gasprom under state control.

Russian analysts consider that the state control will not affect Gasprom market activity.

Timur Khayrullin, analyst of the Russian investment company Antanta Capital, believes that the state control over Gasprom will not affect its further activity.

Khayrullin said that previously the state had partial control over the company through Rosneftgas company. Today, 49,112% shares belong to the state and 0.89% - Rosgazification.

According to Khayrullin, the state officials in the Council of Directors in the company will again dominate.

Pavel Sorokin, the analyst of UniCreditAton, stated that there was no need to enhance the state control over the company.

The state control over Gasprom cannot affect on formation of any prices in market, Sorokin stated.
