Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 May/ corr. Trend S. Aliyev/ At present, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) supplies Georgia with more than 1.5mln cu. m of gas, a source in a government said.
SOCAR plans to supply Georgia with 1.2-1.5mln cu. meters of gas per day with an annual supply totaling to 500mln cu. m during whole of 2008, a source said.
The source did not divulge the cost of the supplied gas. However it is known that, it is more than that of 2007. Azerbaijan was supplying Georgia with gas at $120 for 1,000 cubic meter in 2007. It is expected to increase up to 4180-$190 for 1,000 cu. meters in 2008.
Georgia purchases part of the gas from Russia at $235 for 1000 cu. meters.
SOCAR produces its gas independently from its fields.
