Feasibility Study of New Petrochemical Complex Submitted SC Azerikimya to Azerbaijani President

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 June / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ "Feasibility study for construction of a new petrochemical complex in Azerbaijan has been submitted to country's President," Azertaj news agency reported.

The feasibility study was developed by winners of the tender - Technip, Nexant, White and Case with participation of Societe Generale bank.

The feasibility study includes optimal variant of a new petrochemical complex, technical and economic indices for the project, proposals on efficient utilization of raw materials and energy resources, expansion of the product variety, improvement of consumer peculiarities and ecological indices for production, enhancement of sale opportunities.

State-run Azerikimya thinks that a new petrochemical complex to be constructed with up-to-date technologies will turn Azerbaijan into an important oil products manufacturer in the region and will play an important role in development of non-oil sector.

Presently, chief contractor is being selected for construction.
