Trend E.Ismayilov / It is necessary to develop a special conception on development of petrochemical industry in Azerbaijani, which will enable to establish petrochemical complex on the basis of local raw materials, Natig Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister, told journalists during the meeting dedicated to the Day of gas industry workers.
"Natural gas, oil and gas products are the crude basis for this complex. New petrochemical complex should be set up on its basis and at the same time chemical industry should develop separately," the Minister said.
Firstly, petrochemical complex, developing on the base of local crude, should be established in Azerbaijan, Aliyev said.
"Petrochemical complex is an important part of the Azerbaijani industry. In the Soviet period petrochemical complex developed narrowly, disregarding the peculiarities of Azerbaijan and its crude base," the Minister said.
The state company Azerkimya and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan developed a proposal on organization of the petrochemical complex of the country, which will be presented the Ministry soon.
