"Oil Refining Power in Azerbaijan in 2008 to Retain at Previous Rate" - EIA

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 June / Trend corr. A,Badalova / According to the United States Energy Information Agency (EIA), the oil refining power in Azerbaijan in 2008 will retain at the previous rate and will make up 399,000 barrels per day.

Since 2004 the oil refining power in Azerbaijan has been changed. From 1995 to 2003 the oil refining power had been kept at the rate 442,000 barrels per day.

The oil products are manufactures on the basis of the two oil refining plants in Baku with total capacity of about 20mln tons per year. Both plants are owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which produces 6mln tons of oil per year at its own expenses.

In Kazakhstan, according to EIA, the oil refining power has been kept stable from 2005 to 2008, 345,000 barrels, less by 82,000 barrels per day compared to the period from 1997 to 2004.

In Turkmenistan, the oil refining power has been kept stable since 1995, 237,000 barrels per day.

The figure totaled 714,000 barrels per day in Turkey. From 2002 to 2003, the oil refining power made up 719,000 barrels per day against 694,000 barrels per day in 2001.

In Iran, the oil refining power from 2006 to 2008 touched 1,451barrels per day against 1,474 barrels per day from 2003 to 2005.
