Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 June / corr. Trend E. Ismayilov/ Absheronneft Oil and Gas Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has completed the drilling of new exploitation gas well in Absheron field and the company plans to put it into exploitation in a month, Department said on 30 June.
The depth of the well makes up 1,770 m. The daily production of the well is expected to total to 45,000 to 50,000 cu m of natural gas.
Earlier, one more gas well was put into exploitation. The depth of the well maked up 1,866 m. The daily gas production of the well totals to 50,000 cu m, Department said.
The oil and gas department also plans to begin drilling of new exploratory well (# 61) in Western Absheron field with a target well depth of 850 meters.
The drilling of well 60 has already been completed and a compressor is expected to be installed at mouth of this well within the next few days. The depth of the well makes up 772 meters.
The boring of the exploratory wells is necessary to determine recoverable reserves of the field and its contouring. Exploitation wells will be drilled in the field and platforms will be installed for the oil production once useful reserves are detected.
The assessment of the reserves placed them at over 10mln tons in oil equivalent. Overestimation of the reserves was conducted after the exploratory drilling. It was placed at 5mln tons in oil equivalent earlier.
