Workshop on Tariff Methodology and Principles of Price Fixing to be Held in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 July / Trend / A workshop will be held for the Tariff Council's employees and representatives of energy field organizations under financial support of the United States Agency on International Development (USAID), the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions (NARUC) and Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) in Baku from 21 to 25 July, the US Embassy in Azerbaijan said. This workshop will be dedicated to economic regulation, tariff methodology, principles of price fixing, quality of services and organization of private investment.

Paul Davis, chief economist of USAID, and Elshan Asadov, head of secretariat of the Azerbaijani Tariff Council, will make a report at the workshop.

The main objective of the workshop is setting basic conceptions in energy field, fixing price patterns, aims and methods of estimation.

USAID and NARUC organized a project on regulation of public services to give a stimulus to energy regulation through support of joint discussions, workshops and technical trainings.

Representatives of the Tariff Council, the Economic Development Ministry, the Industry and Energy Ministry, the State Commission on Regulation of the Azerbaijani State Property, local utilities, consumers and civil society will participate in this workshop.
