Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 August/ Trend , corr E. Ismayilov/ Georgia's Black Sea port Poti will operate round-the-clock as before from 21 August, Zviad Chkartishvili, head of marketing and investment department of port said to Trend by telephone on 21 August. The port was closed down because of the blast in the railway bridge leading to the Black Sea ports of Georgia.

"It was decided to restore operations of Poti port so that it will operate as before," Chkartishvili said.

The transportation of oil and dry cargo from Azerbaijan and Central Asia was suspended because of the blast in the bridge not far from Kaspi city of Georgia. "The repairs on the bridge are expected to be completed by the end of the week," Chkartishvili said. The cargo accumulated in the terminals of the port since then will be shipped until the repairs in the blasted railway are completed. "We will unload new ships as we have enough storage space," Chkartishvili said.

Port Poti located in the Black Sea shore of Georgia deals with the shipment of mainly light oil products dispatched by transit through Azerbaijan from the eastern coast of the Caspian. The capacity of the oil terminal of the port makes up 3mln tons.
