Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 September/ Trend / President of Turkey Abdullah Gul said Nabucco gas pipeline project which is expected to transport gas from the Central Asia to Europe will be realized, Haber 7 news agency of Turkey reported.
In a response to questions of journalists within 63rd session of UN General Assembly about foreign policy of his country, Turkish President said Nabucco gas pipeline project will be implemented.
"Some countries did not believe in the implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. However, the pipeline has been operating for already several years," Gul said.
The participants of Nabucco include the Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and German RWE. Each of the participants holds equal shares - 16.67% each. Nabucco project worth $12.4bln is expected to deliver gas from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to EU by 2013. The large energy company Gaz de France is also interested in obtaining part of the gas transported via this gas pipeline.
