Kazakhstan, Astana, 20 October / Trend corr. K.Konirova/The potential resource possibility is real in 120 fields in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, Sauat Minbayev, the Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, said.

"Today, we have only 46 fields, on which we have signed 11 contracts. There are 74 potential fields, which are free," Minbayev said.

Minbayev said that how the free field would be combined in the future and how many contracts would be achieved had been unknown.

"Everything will depend on the talks and geological information, as the conformation of contract territories may be different," the minister said.

"Yes, we have certain plans, but it is early to announce anything beforehand. Particularly, we have plans related the Satpayev and Darkhan fields. We refrain from making beforehand statements due to lack of final decision," Minbayev said.
