Poti Terminal Publishes Volumes of Transportation of Light Oil Products

Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 October / corr Trend E.Ismaylov / Terminal on transfer of light oil products in Georgian Black Sea port of Poti refined 315,000 tons of oil products in January to September, the terminal said.

Over 150,000 of the volume of oil products fall on the share of Azerbaijani aviation kerosene. About 150,000 tons of aviation kerosene was transported from Turkmenistan over 9 months. 

This terminal with capacity of about 3.5mln tons per year is specialized in transfer of light oil products from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

The terminal is owned by Channel Energy Georgian-Turkish joint venture, with 75% of stock held by Delta Petroleum Turkish company and the rest by the port's administration. 

The terminal possesses two-way elevated track of discharge of 48 cisterns. The port services tankers with dead-weight of 25,000-30,000 tons.

There are only 16 terminals in Poti, whilst transportation of oil and oil products is realized only in two of them, an official Internet-site of the port said. Press-service of the second terminal, specialized mainly in transfer of dark oil products, refused to inform of volumes of oil products, which had been refined over nine months.

Oil-refinery plant named after Heydar Aliyev specializes in production of aviation kerosene. This the plants plans to refine 5mln tons of oil, which are supplied by SOCAR company (Azerbaijan State Oil Company), involved in crude production in its own funds. Monthly target of oil refinery at the plant makes up 410,000 tons.
