Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November / Trend /In January-Aug 2008, the United States imported 16.4mln barrels oil from Azerbaijan against 11.3mln barrels in 2007, the US Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported.
In 2007, the US imported 20.6mln barrels oil from Azerbaijan against 9,7mln barrels in 2006
Oil is mainly transported from Azerbaijan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline to deliver oil to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Azerbaijani light oil is also exported from the Georgian Supsa port, where the oil is delivered via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
Oil is also exported from the Georgian Black Sea Batumi port, where it is delivered via the railway from Baku, and from Novorossiysk port, where oil is transported via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
