Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 November / Trend / Drilling of an exploration well in the onshore Jahandar field, located in the north-west of Azerbaijan (bordering Georgia), will be completed in the first quarter of 2009, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said on 6 November. Formerly, the drilling was expected to be completed at the late 2008.
The SOCAR Complex Drilling Trust is engaged in the drilling. The depth of the well has totalled 2,900 m of projected 3 ,400 m, the company said.
Earlier, the area was explored and it was decided to conduct prospect drilling.
