US Supports Principle of Diversification of Energy Export Routes: Energy Secretary Bodman
Azerbaijan, Baku, November 13/ Trend , corr V. Sharifov/ The United States supports principle of diversification of energy export routes and projects which are realized in the Caspian region and countries attending Energy Summit in Baku.
"These projects can contribute to global energy security," Samuel Bodman, Secretary of US Department of Energy told press conference in Baku on November 13.
Presidents of Turkey, Georgia, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Romania will visit Baku to attend Energy Summit to be held on November 14.
"US do not directly receive energy resources produced in the Caspian region, but reserves in this region ensure energy security of Europe which is very important for US," Bodman said.
The first energy summit took place in Krakow city of Poland in May 2006, second - in Vilnius in November 2007 and third - in Kiev in May 2008.
