Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 November / Trend / The 4th Energy Security Summit commenced in Baku today. It will be an important arena for discussion of energy policy prospects and construction of new pipelines in the region.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkey's Abdullah Gul, Lithuania's Valdas Adamkus, Ukraine's Viktor Yushchenko, Georgia's Mikheil Saakashvili, Poland's Lech Kaczynski, Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, Greek Development Minister Christos Folias, and other officials are in attendance.
The Odessa-Brody oil pipeline, which is designed to transport Caspian oil to the Central Europe, will be one of the discussed issues.
The first energy summit took place in Poland's Krakow city in May 2006, the second in Lithuanian capital city Vilnius in November 2007, and the third in Kiev in May 2008.
