Petrol Prices Not to Rise in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, 14 November / Trend corr. N.Kirtzkhalia / Prices for fuel will not rise in Georgia, Vano Mtvralashvili, the chairman of Union for producers, exporters, importers and consumers of oil products in Georgia, believes.

According to Mtvralashvili, there are not any threats for fuel price rise, as world prices for oil dropped because of financial crisis.

"The second reason is connected to strengthening of exchange rate of US dollar," he said.

The current retail prices for fuel in Georgia are as following: Azerbaijani petrol - 1.2-1.3 lari, Premier - 1.6-1.65 lari, Super - 1.7-1.75 lari, Azerbaijani diesel fuel - 1.5-1.55 lari and European diesel fuel - 1.75-1.8 lari.

According to the National Bank of Georgia, exchange rate for US dollar is 1.65 lari on 14 November.
