SOCAR to Complete Reconstruction Work of Some Georgian Railway Sections by End of 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 November / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov/ In December leadership of the SOCAR's oil terminal in the Georgian Black Sea Kulevi port plans to complete reconstruction of roads nearby Agurkarkhana and Kvaloni railway stations, a source at the terminal said on 24 November.

These two stations are located between Santredi and Chaladidi stations. Length of the reconstructed sections at Agurkarkhana station makes up 815m and at Kvaloni station - 720m.

Reconstruction of six railway lines nearby Santredi railway station leading to the terminal is under completion, as well. Length of all reconstructed roads makes up 5km.

It is planned to construct the second additional railway road from Chaladidi to terminal in Kulevi after completion of this work. It will enable compositions to enter the terminal through one road and leave -via another. At present only one railway line leads to the terminal in Kulevi, the source said. It is planned to construct additional branch from Chaladidi station the terminal in Kulevi by the beginning of 2009 and length of this railway section will make up 13km.
