Azerbaijan Discharges its Energy Liability to Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 November / Trend corr. S.Aliyev/ Azerbaijan completed supply of electric power to Iran within discharge of its power liability to the country, Vice-President of the Azerenerji joint-stock company (JSC) Marlen Askarov said on 27 November.  

Azerbaijan's power liability to Iran was 245mln KW/hour. Iran supplied the power to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan (NAR), which is in blockade, to be returned by Azerbaijan in summer and autumn, when Iran experiences growth of power consumption.

Presently, the Islamic Republic of Iran supplies 150,000-200,000 kw-hr of power to NAR. And the volume will be returned in future.
