The Heydar Aliyev Refinery, formerly known as Azneftyanacag, and State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (Socar) Azerneftyag Refinery processed roughly 6.2 million tons of oil in 2008. The oil-products output at the refineries increased 8.4 percent compared to 2007.
Petrol production increased 13.9 percent in 2008 compared to 2007, diesel by 18.2 percent and bitumen by 20.5 percent. Kerosene, mazut and naphta production did not fall in 2008.
