The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported roughly 20 million tons of oil and 2.5 million tons of oil related products in 2008, the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee reported.
Socar produces oil from 57 fields through its owns funds. Azerbaijani oil products are produced at two Socar-owned Baku oil refineries with the total capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year. The oil is exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and the Baku-Novorossiysk pipelines.
The QKSSS exported roughly 98,300 tons of oil related products from Azerbaijan in 2008, Azneftyag production association - over 92,300 tons, Caspian Petrol-1 - 69,200 tons.
