Around 34 million tons of Azeri Light oil were produced at the Azeri-Chiraq-Gunashli (ACG) fields on the Caspian Sea in 2008, BP said.
The annual average daily production at ACG totaled 688,500 barrels, the company said.
Azeri Light is produced at ACG. The oil is exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
BP halted oil production at the Central Azeri field on Sept. 17 and evacuated staff from the platform as gas emissions were found nearby in the sea. Production on the West Azeri platform was also halted as a precautionary measure, but later restored.
Before suspending activities at Central Azeri, the daily output at ACG was 900,000 barrels.
The Azeri-Chiraq-Guneshli PSA was signed in September 1994. The agreement provides for the contract area's development in the course of 30 years. Production at the Chiraq field commenced in 1997, at Central Azeri in early 2005, West Azeri in early 2006 and East Azeri in late 2006. Production at the Deepwater Gunashli field began in late April.
Around 7.2 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from four wells on the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field in 2008 against a planned 7.7 billion cubic meters, BP said.
Daily gas output at Shah Deniz is 23 million cubic meters.
In 2008, the average daily condensate output from four wells at Shah Deniz totaled 41,000 barrels. At the moment the condensate output is 47,000 barrels.
The contract to develop Shah Deniz was signed on June 4, 1996. Shareholders are: ВР (25.5 percent), Statoil (25.5 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), LukAgip (10 percent), NICO (10 percent), Total (10 percent), and TPAO (9 percent).
Gas production at the field began in December 2006. Gas is currently transported to Georgia and Turkey via the South Caucasus Pipeline. Azerbaijan is also a buyer of the gas.
Some 9 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced during the first stage of development at the field. The volumes will be sold to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. During the second stage after 2012, production will increase to 20 billion cubic meters. The gas will be exported to EU countries.
