SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) established checking ecologic points at the platforms of its oil and gas production departments Bibi Heybat Neft, Balakhany Neft and Gum Adasi, Ecology Department of SOCAR said on April 10.
The points were established within plan of complex operations to improve ecologic state of Azerbaijan over 2006-2010. These points aim to conduct monitoring, gas kick in atmosphere by automobile vehicles of SOCAR (roughly 5,000 units), as well as giving recommendations to conduct them in accordance with legislation requirements and standards in this sphere and informing of community about operations and actions.
New points will measure both stationary and mobile methods. Estimation will be given on temperature parameters, content of waste and carbonic gas, nitric oxide and other parameters.
Automobile vehicles and other technique are planned to be checked in these points once per year.
Automobile vehicles of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as the State Road Police are planned to be checked in these points in future.
