Azerbaijan, Baku, April 10 / trend Capital E. Ismayilov /
The 35-th meeting of power engineering council of CIS countries will be held in Baku on May 29, Azerenergy JSC (the biggest producer of power energy in Azerbaijan) vice-president Marlen Askerov said on April 10.
The issue regarding synchronization of Azerbaijani, Russian and Iranian energy systems is planned to be considered at the meeting, Askerov said.
Synchronization of Azerbaijani, Russian and Iranian energy systems is delayed because of lack of agreement from the Russian side regarding construction of the second 330-kilovolt transmission line Derbend-Yashma, Azerenergy JSC head Etibar Piriverdiyev said.
Earlier there was the agreement on construction of this transmission line between Azerbaijan and Russia. Azerbaijan is agreed and ready for implementation of this project, Piriverdiyev said.
Implementation of this project will allow conducting mutual volume of power energy between Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran, as well as joining the rest countries of region to this project. Earlier Russia and Iran held talks on type of cooperation. One of the sides insisted on mutual sale of power energy, the other one on exchange.
