Azerbaijan, Baku, May 8 / Trend /

An average daily production as part of development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field will make up 702,000 barrels per day (roughly 34.6 million tons per year) in 2009 compared to 688,500 barrels in 2008, from 5 platforms for production, BP (operator of the project) said.

From total volume of production in the ACG, roughly 97,400 barrels per day will produced in Chirag, 117,900 barrels per day - in Central Azeri, 255,000 barrels per day in the Western Azeri, 113,400 barrels per day in the Eastern Azeri and 118,000 barrels per day in the deep-water Gunsheli.

BP - operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) - halted oil production at the Central Azeri field on Sep. 17, 2008, and evacuated staff from the platform in connection with gas emissions into the sea. Later, the oil production on the platform was resumed. Moreover, production was halted in the western part of the field from the Western Azeri platform due to precautions and it was resumed later.

At present 12 wells from 13 function on the Central Azeri platform. A full-scale production will be resumed after finishing research on the platform.

In the first quarter 2009, production from the ACG amounted to 738,000 barrels of oil per day (roughly 9 million tons). Some 114,000 barrels of this volume was produced in the Chirag, 131,000 barrels in the Central Azeri, 252,000 barrels in the Western Azeri, 142,000 barrels in the Eastern Azeri and 99,000 barrels in the deep-water Guneshli.

Total daily production of oil in the ACG comprises roughly 850,000 barrels at the moment.
