Oil production on Shah Deniz field to increase by 8%

A total of 7.7 billion cubic metre of gas and 1.9 million ton of condensate is planning to produce from the gas condensate Shah Deniz field in 2009, compared to 7.1 billion cubic metre and 1.8 million tons in 2008.

This year operation expenses of the Shah Deniz project will hit $264 million ($152 million in 2008) and capital expenses - $369 million ($471 million).

In the first quarter of 2009, project's operation expenses reached $35 million and capital expenses - $87 million. In January-March 2009, some 2 million cubic metre of gas and 0.5 million ton of condensate was produced from the field.

The daily production capacity of the field is 22 million cubic metre and over 45,000 condensate from five wells. The production capacity will be increased after operation of new wells.

Total reserve of Shah Deniz field is 1.2 trillion cubic metre of gas.

Shah Deniz participating interests are: ВР (operator - 25.5%), StatoilHydro (25.5 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), LukAgip (10 percent), NICO (10 percent), Total (10 percent), and TPAO (9 percent).
