The 35th meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council is meeting in Baku.
Participants of the meeting will discuss results of operation of national energy systems during autumn and winter months of 2008-2009.
The meeting was scheduled to consider the implementation of the Treaty on the parallel operation of electric power systems of CIS states, to develop a draft feasibility study of simultaneous interconnection of CIS and Baltic countries with the energy company UCTE.
Participants will also consider issues of development projects Concepts of cooperation of CIS member states in the energy sector and plan for implementation, development pilot project to implement the technology of distributed calculations and planning regimes of power.
The CIS Electric Board and its working body - the Executive Committee - were established under the Agreement on coordination of interstate relations in the energy industry of CIS. The paper was signed by heads of governments of the Commonwealth in February 1992.
