JSC "Azerenerji" intends to put into operation a new Janub power plant (capacity 780 MW) in the Shirvan city of Azerbaijan by late 2010, vice-president of Azerenerji Marlen Asgarov said. Construction of the station is carried out by specialists of JSC.
A total of 28 transformers will installed at this power station to transmit electricity. The station will operate with black oil and gas as a result of the introducing advanced technologies.
The construction of this plant will increase the energy security of the Absheron Peninsula and the southern region of Azerbaijan. Also it will help to improve the efficiency and energy-transmitting and energy-distributing systems.
