Azerbaijan, Baku, June 3 / Trend , A.Badalova/

To sell own gas, Azerbaijan will accept the most advantageous proposal from a commercial point of view, Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said on June 3.

"We will sell our gas in the direction which will be the most advantageous, i.e. on which we can sell the gas more expensive," Aliyev said.

Aliyev said the gas negotiations between Gazprom and SOCAR will take place within a long period of time.

"At present we do not speak about any short-term deal. I believe both sides are solving strategic issues and issues of long-term cooperation," Aliyev said.

The minister said there are a lot of proposals to buy the Azerbaijani gas. Thus, Iran offered to purchase gas as part of the second development phase of the Shah Deniz field.

It is necessary to study all conditions and proposals through the negotiations, Aliyev said. The whole volume of gas will not be sold in one direction, the minister said.

"In the most cases, gas will be sold at the highest price. We will accept the proposal, which will be beneficial for us," Aliyev said.
